The Fun in Loving Yourself.

I think I always believed that I have established a good relationship with myself. I’ve told myself, as well as others, that I love my body and myself. I think it leaned towards encouraging others to engage in the behavior than actually doing what I believe I stood for. Recently, I have come to realize how far I have strayed from truly loving behaviors. I have begun to self-destruct, count calories, compare myself to others. That is far from loving, and if I treated my friends as I treat myself, I’d have no friends at all. I wrote a similar post to this one, On Loving Yourself.  It centered more around the importance of it and how it connects to the rest of the world.

I have decided to commit to noticing and changing these behavioral patterns.
It’s important to love yourself, because it allows for a better connection with the entire world.  It’s difficult to do when all around us are photos of models and people who look absolutely stunning. Sometimes we may forget that those people don’t look like those people, and that it’s the work of many, including make-up.

Recently I found a tag on Instagram. It is the most powerful tag I have stumbled upon, and I am glad I can witness all these powerful women standing up for their own bodies.

#embracethesquish  + #bodypositivity #bopo

With those tags, you’ll come across posts like these:

This is truly inspiring. You’ll surround yourself with real, authentic human beings who love their bodies for all they have to offer. Your body is not who you are, and in the end, you really are beautiful. The things you love, the kindness and love you share with others. The way you make people feel is what makes you who you are. Love yourself for all the generations of women before you. It requires strength to do what others do not want you to. Do it for yourself. #girlpower

So, I’ve made a list of 3 things you can do.

It’s hard, but just like anything, this requires practice. It’s fun, and one of the sweetest things about this is that you’ll begin to shine like a star who doesn’t need anyone’s approval because she already has her own.

Be a Goddess.
